Chef Lý grew up in her mother’s Saigon café, a gathering place alive with community, conversation, and the once-banned sounds of Nhac Vang “Yellow music.” Four decades later, her family’s recipes and spirit of freedom live on in Vancouver.

At Anh and Chi, she has built one of the city’s most iconic restaurants, reimagining Vietnamese cuisine for a new generation. She is also the first Vietnamese Canadian woman to earn a Michelin Bib Gourmand, three years in a row. Today, she’s passing her culinary secrets to her children while planning more time in the garden with her grandchildren.
