Cactus Club Cafe RichmondEdie Steensma's culinary journey began in high school at her grandfather's butcher shop. She then pursued her passion for restaurants by attending culinary school. Over the next decade, she honed her skills in Vancouver's upscale dining scene, eventually becoming the Head Chef of two high-end Italian restaurants. Her culinary expertise includes fresh pasta, whole-animal butchery, and collaborating with local farms.
Earlier this year, Edie joined Cactus, drawn by her positive childhood experiences with the restaurants and glowing reviews from industry colleagues. As part of the Chef in Training program, she has gained a deep appreciation for Cactus's consistently high standards in food quality and service. She is particularly inspired by the company's commitment to empowering and coaching staff to help them achieve their full potential.
In her free time, Edie loves to host dinner parties, sew new outfits from thrift store finds, and spend time outdoors.
