Little KarpBorn in a small town in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in Northwestern China, Fanfan Cheng’s journey into hospitality has been one of passion, curiosity, and perseverance. After completing four years of university studies in Chengdu, Sichuan, she pursued further education in Switzerland, where she earned a degree in hotel management. Following graduation, Fanfan joined the renowned Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group as a management trainee, beginning her career in the Rooms Division.
While her professional path started in hotel operations, her lifelong love of cooking—sparked in childhood—never faded. After moving to Vancouver, Fanfan became involved in her family’s seafood business. During this time, she began preparing for her dream venture: opening her own restaurant. That dream came to life with Little Karp Seafood Restaurant, a reflection of her roots, her international experience, and her creative culinary vision. Fanfan is passionate about exploring different cuisines and enjoys crafting dishes that blend Western techniques with Asian ingredients, creating innovative and harmonious fusion flavors.
Her approach to cooking is guided by curiosity, authenticity, and a constant desire to discover new tastes and combinations that surprise and delight her guests.
