Laurel Prentice
MoxiesLaurel is the Regional Chef for Eastern Canada with Moxies, where she has the privilege of leading and mentoring incredible culinary teams across the region. Her love for food began early, inspired by her mother and grandmother—both talented home cooks and bakers—who welcomed her into the kitchen and encouraged her curiosity. Those early moments sparked a passion that continues to guide her today.
Laurel trained at Liaison College and George Brown College in Toronto and has continued to invest in her growth through specialized culinary programs, always seeking to refine her skills and expand her perspective. Along the way, she built a diverse foundation working as a pastry chef and a butcher, experiences that taught her the value of craftsmanship, discipline, and understanding food from the ground up. Her career has taken her through Milestones with the Cara Group, Canyon Creek with SirCorp Restaurants, and Nordstrom, where she was able to merge her love of food with creativity and style.
At her core, Laurel is driven by curiosity and a desire to keep learning. She continues to challenge herself in her home kitchen, working through cookbooks and exploring new cuisines and techniques. She is also entrepreneurial by nature, having owned both a catering business and a frozen custard concept. As a proud chef and mentor, she is deeply passionate about supporting others, sharing knowledge, and helping shape a thoughtful, inclusive future for our industry.
