ChambarBorn and raised in the picturesque town of Ružomberok, Slovakia, Nikola Janitsova discovered her passion for food through the warm hearty meals prepared by her stepfather. That early love of homestyle cooking stayed with her as she set out on a new path.
In 2015, Nikola moved to Canada and began working at Vancouver’s acclaimed Chambar Restaurant as a dishwasher. Her determination, creativity, and talent quickly stood out, and she rose through the ranks to become one of the restaurant’s Sous Chefs. In 2018, she proudly became a permanent resident—a milestone that marked both personal resilience and professional growth.
Nikola’s cooking is a celebration of her Slovak roots, infused with bold flavors, comforting textures, and a deep love for soulful, satisfying food. Her journey is a testament to the power of passion, perseverance, and the kitchens that inspire transformation.
